About the Fire Department
The mission of the men and women of the Carson City Fire Department is to serve the community with pride, commitment, and compassion. The Carson City Fire Department is comprised of six divisions which contribute to the safe community we enjoy. We serve the community in many different ways, including emergency situation management such as fires and medical services. Personnel receive continuous ongoing training to keep them abreast of every nuance in all areas, including fire and emergency medical service, hazardous materials, confined space rescue, fire prevention, aircraft fire rescue, and others.
In addition, the fire department as a whole is involved in many programs. The Fire Department conducts or assists with numerous public safety programs for commercial, non-profit, and public organizations and individuals, to include Life Safety Inspections, Wildland Urban Interface property inspections and Fuels Reduction Program, Fire Extinguisher training, EMT Basics training for high school students, and CC Care+ ambulance subscription. Please see our Programs page for further information.
